Community Members, Family, and Friends,
March is recognized as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month giving us the opportunity to showcase accomplishments and provide awareness about new initiatives that will further expand opportunities for people with disabilities. This month marks an important time to observe the contributions made to our community by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while acknowledging the impact made by so many advocates who have fought for disability rights over the years. We will continue to advocate and educate our communities about disabilities, and we ask you to join us by actively raising awareness about work that still needs to be done.
Below you will find some items that will help you be an ambassador for people with disabilities on social media, at your job, school or even in your very own home. Join us, as we continue to work on behalf of hundreds of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our communities, and find more ways to bridge the gap by spreading awareness to make changes that will continue to transform lives. Together…we are able!
