Joyce Morgan, Charles County
If there were an award for being “a super supporter” Joyce Morgan would win it. She devotes enormous time and effort to the Spring Dell Center, Inc., a non-profit agency supporting Charles County citizens with developmental disabilities. She works tirelessly to raise community awareness about the Center’s mission and its needs.
Joyce has assumed the year-round challenge of raising funds and donations of goods for Spring Dell’s annual auction. Thanks to her perseverance in sharing the agency’s services, businesses now look forward to her visits. In addition to all of the donations that she secures, she also recruits friends and family to attend the events.
Christmas is a special time of the year for Joyce as she gets to play Santa Claus to individuals who do not have family involved in their lives. She purchases numerous gifts, wraps them and delivers them to each of the individuals, spreading love and Christmas cheer! This season is also a time when Joyce expresses her gratitude for the services her child receive on a daily basis by preparing a feast for the employees, including small gifts of thanks for them.
All of these volunteer acts come from Joyce Morgan’s heart and her desire to help others. She is especially dedicated to those who face more challenges in life than most of us do.
