On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the Board of Commissioners held a special meeting to discuss the new emergency order from Governor Hogan that reduces indoor dining to 50 percent capacity at restaurants. They also reviewed public health advisories that urged the public to refrain from attending indoor gatherings of more than 25 people and to limit out-of-state travel to essential trips. Commissioners voted to adhere to the Governor’s latest executive orders without additional restrictions at this time.

Re: Governors Recent Executive Order

Please note that on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 Governor Hogan announced the details of the most recent State of Maryland’s Executive Order that would be effective November 11, 2020 at 5pm.

Please note that during his public announcement yesterday he covered the details of the Executive Order as well as made other recommendations.

The changes in the Executive Order effective today at 5pm do not affect Spring Dell Center and its operations. These Executive Order changes do not change nor modify any of our current operations.

We are still required to adhere to face coverings, social distancing and providing staff with hand washing locations. The Governor has announced that we are experiencing a spike across the State and throughout several specific counties. It is important for you to note that Charles County was identified as one of the counties.

What we need to continue to do: Please continue to adhere to all the precautions Spring Dell has in place for social distancing, wearing of surgical facemasks, washing your hands frequently and keeping all surfaces sanitized.

All staff are reminded not to become relaxed with social distancing when in the community and especially while at work, to include the RSR Admin building as well as any of our homes.

Day Service Suspension To Be Continued Through April 24, 2020

Spring Dell is considered an essential organization because it supports people with disabilities in 18 Residential Homes throughout our community. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have pulled together as a team and have been tirelessly providing them the round the clock support they need. We have set up many policies and practices in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. Our DSP’s are ensuring that the people they support are having fun and meaningful days! After an intense review of the rapidly changing environment regarding the COVID-19 virus, Spring Dell Center leadership has made the difficult decision to suspend our day service program for people currently not employed in the community beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. We are planning for a minimum of a two week suspension in services at which time we will review the current conditions in our community and with the guidance of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

Individuals we support that are employed in the community will be contacted directly by a Spring Dell supervisor to discuss work schedules and transportation. If you have any questions please call 301-934-4561.
